Respiratory Illness Protocols
Proposed Aug 29, 2024 for the 2024-2025 Season
Monitoring the spread of respiratory illness
It is each member’s responsibility to safeguard their own health. If you don’t feel safe being at rehearsal, please don’t come. You can see the current levels as monitored by the CDC here:
- Select Minnesota from the first menu, and Hennepin County from the second
- That gives a one-word answer for the current level, e.g. “Very High”
You can drill into the specific data here:
- Select Minnesota and a timeframe to view a graph
The board will not regularly be monitoring levels. However, if you have a concern, please alert a board member and we’ll consider taking action (such as requiring masks while not playing at a rehearsal, or suspending band activities until levels subside).
Membership Responsibilities
This policy applies to all members who participate in band rehearsals or concerts, and is based on CDC “Preventing Spread of Respiratory Viruses When You’re Sick“:
- If you’ve been sick since the last rehearsal (or the week leading up to a rehearsal when we have a break) please do not come to any rehearsal or concert.
- If you’re not sure if you should come to rehearsal, please talk to your section leader.
- Members who come to rehearsal while sick will be asked to leave.
- We recommend that you stay up to date with COVID and other respiratory illness vaccines.
